Jack Tilton Gallery is hosting David Lynch’s first solo exhibition in New York since 1989, and in pure Lynch fashion, the show is dark, surreal, and slightly twisted. Two floors of Lynch originals including mixed media, painting, and sculpture are on display in the upper east side gallery, and Lynch fans should definitely attend.

A long time partner with Corcoran Gallery in Santa Monica, Lynch has been a visual artist since his school days and in an interview with the LA Times in 2009, he says the large frames encased in glass, like jewel boxes with twinkling lights, are inspired by a Francis Bacon show he saw in the 1960’s.

The reception for David Lynch will be next Friday, March 16, from 6-8PM at Jack Tilton Gallery: 8 East 76 Street, New York, NY
