NS/CB is a Brooklyn-based collaborative mural and street art team composed of Nicole Salgar and Chuck Berrett, respectively. Formed in 2013, the pair began by creating a large, free handed mural on their trailer at the Centre Fuge Public Art Project in the Lower East Side of Manhattan in September 2013.

Salgar and Berrett refined their painting chops while creating several large-scale murals around Manhattan and Brooklyn, and in 2013, they were commissioned to paint a mural at Gramps Bar in Miami during the Art Basel 2013. Over the course of Basel that year, Salgar and Berrett installed 6 murals in the Miami area.

As a creative team, the muralists combine their respective artistic heritages. Salgar is inspired by Victorian design, Indigenous folk art, and fantasy. Berrett was heavily influenced by early heavy metal album art, comic books, and horror. Together, the pair create incredibly stunning images. We really hope they will create something near our studio in Bushwick sometime soon.

“I’ve always had an enormous affinity for Latin folk art, which I believe is undeniably present in my style,” said Salgar. “Art & design are powerful, transformative forces which can elevate people and their communities. Self expression has always been instinctual for me, and I’ve found a way to truly communicate that through art. My goals as an artist are to continue to create with integrity & transmit these messages.”
