Laura Makabresku is a visual artist living and working in Krakow, Poland. Her images and narrative self-portraits evoke the “mystically symbolic” and are composed in the fashion of fairy tales. Born in 1987, Makabresku is self-taught, taking queues from the work of Francesca Woodman, injecting dark undertones into otherwise dreamy compositions.

“…I don’t see these forms of art as a career for me. They are more like passions and expressions of my dark side, which can be evoked through my work. They give a voice to emotions and fears, which would otherwise, eat me from inside.” ~laura Makabresku in conversation with Dinasour City
