It’s a lovely day for a picnic in a cemetery, isn’t it? Well, Michelle Williams thinks so! Ms. Williams frolics through the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in the Spring/Summer 2012 campaign for Boy. by Band of Outsiders, lunching with swans, contemplating her future via Magic-8 ball and getting herself into a bit of mischief, all while looking adorably chic in toile and top hat.

The pixie-haired starlette proves to be the perfect muse for designer Scott Sterberg’s collection of boy-meets-girl clothing, embodying its sophisticated tomboy style in cropped jackets over delicately printed dresses, collared cocktail attire and crisp black and whites.

The 13-look collection, which was shown at New York Fashion Week last fall, was inspired by the 1975 Australian film, by Peter Weir, “Picnic at Hanging Rock”, which tells the story of the disappearance of several schoolgirls and their teacher during a picnic to Hanging Rock on Valentine’s Day, in 1900.

Sterberg shot the entire campaign in vintage, sun-drenched Polaroids, adding to the early 60’s light-hearted and fanciful aesthetic of his storyline.
