It’s been six long years since ambient masterminds Boards of Canada released an album, and I (like every other BoC fan) have been speculating when (and if) they will make their long-awaited return. So it’s refreshing to discover good music that is inspired by BoC in the meantime, such as Denmark’s Sleep Party People. Sleep Party People started as the home recording project of multi-instrumentalist Brian Batz and now includes additional bunny-mask wearing musicians for the live shows.

The mesmerizing though bunny-less video for “Chin,” from the sophomore album We Were Drifting On A Sad Song, was directed by Obscura. Featuring a ballet dancer superimposed on beautiful shots of nebulae, the moon, and starry skies, the video perfectly captures the dreamy feel of the track.

We Were Drifting On A Sad Song was released last month on Brine and Barnacles Records. You can stream the full album below, and if you haven’t already, check out the Hubble telescope’s gallery here.
