After three long years, Japanese post-rockers MONO are back with a double album called For My Parents. Recorded in a cathedral in upstate NY with the Wordless Music Orchestra, the band’s sixth album will be released on September 4, 2012, via Temporary Residence Limited. In the meantime, MONO has given us a preview of the forthcoming record in all its heartbreaking glory. One of the most majestic bands I’ve had the pleasure of seeing live, MONO released Holy Ground, a live DVD and album, in 2010, where they were also joined by the 24-piece orchestra. Judging from the intensity of that performance alone (trailer and a clip below), I think it’s safe to say this album will be incredible.
